First thoughts on 2012- 05 January 2012
First week back to work and one thing on my mind - (no not when I next get paid or when I can take my next holiday) I need to start recruiting and interviewing good sales people. Our business is going well, I’m pleased to say, and I need to get some really good sales people to join our team to help spread the message.
Part of this success has been driven by the misfortune of others. The information commissioner’s office appears to be clamping down on unencrypted emails sent out by well-known organisations and businesses. In the last couple of months two councils have faced fines of £130,000 for sending out emails that are unencrypted and have mistakenly ended up at unintended email addresses – one of which was a local resident. The email in question contained some sensitive data related to a case that social services were running.
The beauty of our system is that it can be installed across any organisation for a fraction of the cost associated with the fine. Depending on the number of users in a company or organisation, we can usually get encrypted email in place for about £20 per user per annum.
Now we have to start getting our message heard. If you are reading this blog and are either a. a really good sales person or b. think you may want encrypted email, then please email me now and I should be able to help - dawn.baker@sslpost.com
