Q. What is SSLPost?
A. SSLPost is an encryption wrapper that securely delivers by email any digital content to authorised and registered recipients.
Q. How secure is SSLPost?
A. SSLPost uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) with a 128-bit key to encrypt communication with the server. The Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) algorithm is used with a 128-bit key to encrypt messages. AES and SSL are recognised as highly secure algorithms when used with a 128-bit key.
Q. Is it safe to use SSLPost in a wireless hotspot?
A. Yes. SSLPost encrypts all communication between your computer and the SSLPost server, so provided you trust your own computer's environment all information is secure.
Q. Is it safe to use SSLPost in an Internet cafe?
A. Although SSLPost is secure, Internet cafes generally do not provide a trusted environment. You should not enter sensitive information such as credit card details or your SSLPost password in an un-trusted environment.
Q. What software do I need to use SSLPost?
A. SSLPost only requires an internet browser and an email client.
Q. Which internet browsers are compatible with SSLPost?
A. SSLPost has been tested with all major browsers, including Internet Explorer and Mozilla.

A. SSLPost has been tested with all major email clients, including Outlook, Evolution, Hotmail and Gmail.
Q. Do I need an email address?
A. Yes. You need an email address to activate your SSLPost account and receive emails.
Q. Does the person I am sending to require an SSLPost account?
A. If you are using the basic SSLPost consumer model then the person you are sending the message to will be automatically set up with an account. However, if you are using one of the business accounts then your administrator must set up the recipient first for added security.
Q. Can I use SSLPost over dial-up?
A. Yes. SSLPost can be used over a dial-up connection.
Q. Do I need a digital certificate?
A. No. SSLPost uses a password as the primary authentication method, thus eliminating the certificate distribution issues which occur in many similar systems.
Q. Can I send attachments?
A. A basic consumer can only send messages. All other account types can send attachments of any type. If you are a basic consumer and wish to send attachments you can upgrade your account.
Q. Can I receive attachments?
A. Yes. Any user can receive attachments.
Q. How do I decode an encrypted message?
A. When you receive your first message you will receive two versions of the same message: one has the decode form inline and the other includes the decode form as an attachment. If one doesn't work then try the other.
Clicking the "Decode" button will take you to the SSLPost website, where you will be prompted to enter your password.
Q. Can I track messages I have sent?
A. Yes. SSLPost tracks all messages, including whether they have been successfully opened. To view the audit trail of your sent messages, log into SSLPost and select "Sent Messages" from the audit menu.
Q. Can I cancel a sent message?
A. Yes, SSLPost provides a revocation facility. To cancel a sent message log into SSLPost and under "Sent Messages" select "Revoke" to change the revocation status of a message. A revoked message cannot be decoded.
